Desnet and Rene Nauny formed La Maison Desny in 1927. Nauny befriended many important artists and designers including Diego and Alberto Giacometti and Andre Masson. The two had a workshop and a retail space in Paris (at 122 Champs Elysees), creating highly exclusive items ranging from furniture to decorative accessories. They also offered an interior design service. They created designs for Worth (Paris) and Chanel, and collaborated with Robert Mallet-Stevens, Djo Bourgeois, and Jean-Michel Frank.
